  • Man II Man

According to a study by Movember, 38% of men have avoided talking to others about their feelings to avoid appearing "unmanly,” and one in five men don't have anyone they can talk to about their problems.

Man II Man is our monthly group experience for men who want belonging, a safe space for support, and a community of like-minded men.

Join our brothers for food, drinks, and open, honest, judgement-free dialogue facilitated by a mental health professional.

  • Therapy Fund

In an article on mental health treatment, the National Alliance on Mental Illness shared that nearly 25% of African Americans are uninsured, which is 1.5 times greater than the white rate. The average private provider charges between $60-$300 per 45-minute session and works primarily out-of-network.

Furthermore, of the 34 million people who identify themselves as African-American within the U.S., 22% live in poverty, and African-Americans living below poverty are 2-3 times more likely to report serious psychological distress than those living above poverty.

Our therapy fund aims to provide at least 5 therapy sessions with Black mental health professionals within our network per Black adult we serve.

  • The Black Book

According to a fact sheet published by the American Psychiatric Association, barriers remain regarding access to and quality of care in mental health services for African Americans and other minority groups.

The barriers include: stigma associated with mental illness, distrust of the health care system, lack of providers from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds, lack of culturally competent providers, lack of insurance, underinsurance

The Black Book will be a directory of Black mental health providers, tools, resources, books, and more to help Black adults start or continue their healing journey.
