The haze of going on trips [18:01]
The long drive
It’s a bit hard to sit and drive and not fall asleep
Staying in places where the beach is not easily accessible (finding parking, chairs, etc.)
Going during holidays could hike up the prices
Depending on where you go, there could be jellyfish (Gulf Shores)
Reflections [23:01]
It’s very important to get away and unplug from everything
It’s good to go on trips with people you love
Being intentional with where you go and doing things you haven’t done before
Home can be wherever you want it to be
Vacations can be like a religious experience
EPISODE QUOTES:
I think, overall, the reflection is about just intention. Like doing more things with intention, being purposeful, and saying that, ‘This is what I'm doing for me at this moment. I enjoy it’, and giving myself the permission to get away, unplug, and not be reachable or any of those things. Just taking better care of ourselves.
- Scott Hayes
Maybe the reflection is that home can be wherever I want it to be. And that just me being able to acknowledge or understand what that even feels like or looks like and have it here first allow me to be able to see it and other other ways in my life.
- Shaté Hayes
We both love water. We both love the beach. And we love to go into the water and pray just kind of thank God and look out into like the foreverness and are reminded of all of the things that God does without us.
