EPISODE QUOTES:

“But I think what has worked for us, and our partnership, has been this idea that there is no real leader. Here. I am head of household, you know, by all biblical standards, but I am not the final say in this household.”

- Scott Hayes

“My grandmother says that one is a whole number. That means that I am whole, he can't complete me. Right? And so I've got to be responsible for my own joy and my own happiness now and peace. And then we together can co create this, you know, life of joy and, and shared happiness and peace and things like that.”

- Shaté Hayes

“For me, there's a part of me that believes that everything is personal. But that I don't have to take it personally. And that can be difficult for people. So what I understand is that everybody is fighting a battle that I don't understand.”

- Scott Hayes

I think that if we continue to have these spaces, our narrative will become normalized of having these healthy, effective conversations, because we communicate all day long. But if it's not effective, and people aren't able to comprehend what's being said, it's ridiculous. It doesn't change anything.
